If you were a bird, would you land here?

From the outside looking in....

From the inside looking out....

A couple funny pictures of Hannah hunting the bird feeder in my office. It's pretty funny to watch and listen to her. After a while the birds figure out that she can't get them and fly in for lunch. The things that entertain me.....

Il "I'm in Heaven" Divo Night!

WOW! Second time seeing the guys in concert and they were phenominal! Totally 1000 times better and more powerful than listening to their recordings, it literally sends chills down your spine. They sang 2 songs that they have not yet recorded, Bridge Over Troubled Water and The Impossible Dream, both were unbelievable. I am in heaven still today, can stop humming and smiling. Next goal, seeing them live somewhere in Europe, like Spain, Italy or Switzerland.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hal-le-e-e-e-ju-ah!

Raspberries!

This is my first day of picking from my little raspberry patch. I don't think I got this many all last year! I am so excited, looks like this may be a daily event for the foseeable future.

Update on the baby birds.
This is the last one to leave the nest. They stick close to the house especially at night, but they are on their own now.

The birdies are launching!

The first little bird launched from the nest last night. I found him on the window sill. When the cat came, I went out to try and save him but gratefully he flew away! He has been with mom and dad flying around and landing on the roof. The other two are still hesitating. Mom is exhausted at trying to coax them out. I have the dogs and cats in the garage trying to give them the opportunity to fly safely. Man the things we do for nature!

Michael

Ok, I can't let it go with out acknowleding my fascination with the King of Pop. I have sat glued to the TV today, watching the memorial and all the programs about him. I never went to a concert or even bought one of his albums (at least until recently) but I can't stop watching the dancing and the videos and looking at his physical transformation and wondering. And his music plays in my head from the time I wake up until the next day, always something different. I'll admit that I was a Jackson 5 girl and not an Osmond's girl, in fact I just may have some J5 vinyl in the closet, that would be cool. RIP MJ

Cleared for take off.....

We have a nest of baby birds on our deck out back. There appears to be 3 babies and they are so big now, they eclipse the nest. I believe today will be their first solo flights. The mom and dad have been out there coaxing all morning. I locked up the stalker kitties in the garage to give the babies a fighting chance. I'll keep you posted (hopefully with pictures) of the first flights.

Just a quick update, the babies didn't launch out of the nest today. So maybe they are waiting for a Hump Day take off. They were in the nest flapping their wings and making a bunch of noise, but last time I looked, they were hunkered down for the night.

Kiowa 4th of July

I really miss the 4th of July in LaVerkin. The parade, the Square, the sloppy joes and the races. I miss the fishing pond and the cake walk.... We stopped in at the Kiowa celebration, it was kind of fun just really small. They hold it on the grounds of the museum which is the original high school. The museum is actually pretty cool. The fireworks were rained out, so that was pretty disappointing, but maybe they'll set them off next weeked or something.

Anyway, the coolest thing was that the church (not the Mormon church) was holding a big garage sale across the street, so we mosied through and I found almost a complete set of Wedgewood china. I wasn't sure what I was getting but I offered the lady $20 and she gladly took it. When I got home and looked it up online, to my surprise it is worth a lot! The large platter in the picture is worth about $150, Happy 4th of July to me!

Anderson Lake

This was our drive way during the down pour last night. We probably got a couple of inches. We're on tornado watch tonight again, but probably just more rain. My next post will be some of the blessings of the water. The wild flowers are incredible this year, in fact, I'm including cactus that is in bloom, something we rarely see.

Sundown on the ranch

Caught this the other night and of course the pictures don't do it justice. Is so pretty here right now, still green, still tons of wild flowers, still a peaceful, easy feeling....

This is another picture of my mom that I loved from when she visited last month.
