Karma

I had an interesting experience today that has me in a pretty reflective mood. I was in the grocery store doing some shopping and I saw a wad of bills laying on the floor in the aisle. I reached down and picked it up, there were 3-4 $5 bills and a receipt for birthday stuff from the Dollar Store, no name. I quickly had that little discussion with myself of what the "right" thing to do was. A couple of months ago I found a $100 bill at the checkout stand in Lin's and turned it in (JSYK). I put the new found money in my coupon envelope and finished my shopping. I didn't see anyone frantically looking for something they'd lost. Anyway, on the way out of the store I just couldn't do it, so I took it to the customer service desk and handed it over. Here's where the Karma comes in....

On my way home I got to see one of the most incredible sites, ever. I saw a mom antelope with 2 (count em 2) brand new babies. The mom was laying down in the grass and the 2 little wobbly babies were just hanging out by her. I bet every other person that drove down that road today totally missed the miracle, but I saw it. In fact I went back and watched for a few minutes. I had my camera but didn't want to disturb them. I have to tell you, it brought me to tears. I feel rewarded for doing the right thing. Rewarded in a way that is special and unique to me. I love babies and I am mesmerized by their miracle of life, it is humbling to me to be in the presence of something that has just left the presence of God, deep, I know....

Sadie Pretty Young Lady

Sadie has grown fast. She had a gimpy front paw yesterday so there was no ball chasing for her. It didn't stop her from bringing that dang ball everywhere! She turned 1 year old on April 2. She is small (at least compared to Booner) or should I say petite. She is a gorgeous dog though and very smart. She will manage up to 3 or 4 balls on a walk. She knows where they all are, and will either put them together or point them out for you. The grungy balls are a part of everyday life for me and her. If she's not chasing a ball (total concentration) she will chase anything else that moves. We have new kittens in the barn that are a big temptation for her, but the momma cats are pretty protective, I would put my money on them.

Sebastian and Clarence

Yesterday while I was trying to take pictures of the flowers, Sebastian and Clarence decided to make a climbing post out of me. It was pretty funny. Sebastian is the orange male that reminds me so much of our very much missed, Tiger. I know I seem strange with all the animals, but I really enjoy the companionship and antics of the critters. And a couple other notes, we are getting a new family of peach faced birds on our deck. The male and female are busy building a new nest. We think they must be the babies from a couple of years ago. And we have a pair of mallards down at the bottom in our little pond. I'll get pictures sometime, but didn't want to disturb them if they are nesting. I love nature!

And from Hurricane....

Thanks Barry and Teresa for doing such an awesome job on the landscaping at the Hurricane Hacienda. You guys work fast! This is the back lawn and patio area. I am so happy with the results so far!!

Easy like Sunday morning

It is such a beautiful morning here. We have had rain for the past few days so the flowers and the grasses are at their peak. I hope you can feel the way it feels here, warm sun, cool breeze, heavy dew, birds (lots of birds) singing, the sound of the wind in the trees, and just the music of nature. It is breathtaking.

New Bands!

I have a bunch of new colors available. Also, the pink breast cancer bands and the grey lung cancer bands are available for fund raisers. I donate a portion of the profits from those bands to cancer research. I'm just getting the new bands up on the website at www.s4cash.com so please come visit and BUY some bands! They are awesome for holding your stuff together in you purse, bag or pocket.

Back in Colorado

Well, the Women's Expo was kind of a bust. Not as many people came through and those folks who did weren't spending. But on the big plus side, I had a great time with Tricia and it was really fun just hanging out. We had the Passion Party booth on one side of us (what do they use those things for???) and the guy that invented Bubba Teeth behind us. I made the mistake of double dog daring Tricia to stick a long weed through the curtain and into the ear of the guy behind us, which she did! That's how we started the deal with Bubba. He had teeth that had a gold ring drilled through the front. Honestly I didn't know he was spoofing me for awhile, I thought he was just a jerk! But come to find out this guy has made MILLIONS off his product! He encouraged me to keep going with my bands.

Buying Bonanza

Starting Friday morning at 10:00 am. Come visit the Annie and Trish booth #608. We have some great stuff for sale. Tricia has done some really awesome stuff with her vinyl (UpperCase Living), I'll probably end up buying most of it if you guys don't get there first! I have cool colors of my cash bands and have added the breast and lung cancer bands. For a buck a piece you can stock up and use them for everything. I also have some inexpensive jewelry with styles for everyone and most pieces or sets are below $20.00.

We'll be keeping an eye out for you...

Touchdown, 16 Grassy Meadows

We flew into Hurricane on Monday at high noon. The flight was pretty smooth all the way with the exception of the last 15 minutes. Something around the Kanab area, it just gets really rough. So I am on high alert, muscles tense, teeth grinding, totally in the zone for the part of the flight when I am already tired, already need to get to the bathroom and just want to enjoy coming over the mesa and dropping into home. I feel so lucky to be able to experience the country from a small plane, I wish I could take a picture of how it feels to come over the mesa edge, but I'm too busy hanging on and I don't think you can get the whole effect without feeling the feeling.

Upon arrive, we discovered the morning doves who have made a home out of our light by the fron entry. It sounds so cool to hear them cooing. And my awesome broth Barry has been hard at work putting in the landscaping. We decided to plant grass with gardens along the fences and house. The north hangar side has a spot for fruit trees, and along the drive is a great veggie garden spot. Lots of work has gone in to get it this far, THANKS BARRY! Now back to sucking up spiders and other crawly creatures....

My Mom

This is what I love about my mom...
She's smart
She's pretty
She always told me that "I could"
She gives everything, freely
She is compassionate
She is a survivor
She has strength and conviction
She is constantly in motion
She achieves
She is generous
She doesn't know the meaning of "can't"
She puts up with me when it would be easier to walk away
She gave me drive and determination
She encourages my dreams
She never gives up
She's my mom, she gave me life...what more needs to be said?

I love you mom

Who doesn't love a cowboy?

I'm so hooked into Dancing with the Stars this season. I usually don't spend my time on this kind of stuff, but I got sucked in by Ty Murray, the Bull riding rodeo champion. He is the hardest working guy on the show. It is evident that dancing doesn't come natural to him, not like bull riding anyway. But he has a determination that is very cool to watch. And honestly, who doesn't love a romantic guy in a cowboy hat that slings cowboy logic?

He's in the semi-finals, guess I'm not the only one out here who is a huge Ty Murray fan....
